A little bit about me
Since graduating from Columbia College Chicago in 2014 with a Bachelor’s in Photography, what has stuck with me is bringing engaging moments into my event photography for establishments like The Wing, genuine energy into my headshots for employees at Facebook HQ, and bold personality and colors into my personal branding content for hustlers like The Franchise.
My foundation as a photojournalist while I was at Columbia College quickly translated into the real world into event photography. But I must be honest, I still love photojournalism and miss it with all my heart. How I have recaptured photographing everyday life back into my photography since has been through volunteering with organizations I believe in. I have documented for Social Change, Black Village Foundation, Imagine Englewood If and numerous protests fighting for racial issues. This pandemic woke a lot of us up, and as I have been validated in my skill of capturing raw human emotion, I have found my way of giving back in order to bring awareness to those who need it most.
During summer of 2019, AT&T was running their “It’s a *** Thing” all across the nation’s cities. They reached out to me expressing how much they loved the authenticity I have when it comes to Chicago on my Instagram. They chose not only one but two images to go up during the campaign!
